Great reading, Josh--love the analogy to bread making (I bake almost all our bread, and made some last night--looking forward to my sandwich shortly!)
I'm glad you have caught the bug of dissatisfaction with what we teach and how we teach it. It's not an easy bug to cope with (perhaps it's like a virus, once it's inside you, it keeps digging and disturbing). It makes it hard to be a student teacher in someone else's classroom. It also makes it hard to be a new teacher--because you have a far stronger sense of what you DON'T want to do that of what and how to DO something better. I sure hope you stick with it.
Thanks, Josh--hope things are good with your parents, I gather your father is still in hospital.
